Holiday Information Slip
In response to a number of queries raised and in order to avoid any
possible misunderstandings we wish to clarify a number of points as follows:
FULL TIME CHILDREN
1) THE HOLIDAY YEAR:
This mirrors the School Year and runs from SEPTEMBER TO AUGUST.
Unused holiday may not be carried forward.
2) NOTICE OF HOLIDAYS:
Please give as much notice as possible. In any event a minimum of two weeks written
notice is requested to allow effective staff planning etc.
3) HOLIDAY ENTITLEMENT:
The holiday entitlement is as follows:
Christmas: Monday 19th December 2011 – Friday 30th December 2011, inclusive
School Closed: Bank Holiday Monday 2nd January 2012
Return to school: Tuesday 3rd January 2012.
All Bank Holidays. Good Friday – April 6th 2012, Easter Monday – April 9th 2012,
May Day Monday - May 7th 2012,
Spring Holiday – Monday 4th June 2012,
Queens Royal Jubilee Bank Holiday – Tuesday 5th June 2012
Summer: Monday 20th August 2012 - Friday 31st August 2012, inclusive.
Return to school: Monday 3rd September 2012.
Plus an additional two weeks if attending throughout the year for the full school year.
Commencement of full time attendance after 1st April would be with one week’s holiday without charge up to the end of the Holiday year in August.
(Total Holiday if attending full school year = six weeks plus Easter and May Bank Holidays or five weeks plus May Bank Holidays if commencing after 1st April).
Holiday entitlement taken may be subject to a pro-rata fees adjustment upon leaving relative to the length of time attended at The Children’s House.
The above additional weeks are directly relative to the number of days that your child would
normally attend.
EXAMPLE
If your child normally attends the nursery for 4 sessions a week, he /she is entitled to 4 sessions holiday per week of additional holiday entitlement.
These holidays may be taken either as individual days or as weekly blocks, according to your
wishes.
